Wire Harness Assembly Technician

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Wire Harness Assembly Technician to join our team in Elkhart, IN. This full-time position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and prior wire harness assembly experience. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment and capable of building complex wire harness assemblies using nail boards while following detailed assembly drawings, wire lists, and written process instructions.
Responsibilities include routing and assembling electronic components, completing final wiring of cabinets and control panels, operating semi-automatic equipment such as crimp presses and wire strippers, and using precision hand tools including soldering irons, torque wrenches, and crimpers. The technician will perform functional and continuity testing, conduct visual and dimensional inspections, and troubleshoot or rework assemblies to ensure they meet quality control standards. The role also requires supporting production goals related to quality, schedule, and efficiency while maintaining compliance with safety and ISO procedures. Overtime and weekend work may be required.
Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of wire harness or electro-mechanical assembly experience. Strong wiring skills, the ability to read complex technical drawings, excellent hand dexterity, attention to detail, and basic computer and math skills are required. J-STD, IPC-610, or IPC-620 certifications are preferred, and experience with MRP systems is a plus.
