$50, 000- $60, 000 per year (DOE)
1st Shift (7am-5: 00pm)


POSITION SUMMARY
Oversees production consisting of two shifts (30 employees per shift) of hourly associates in a cross dock, warehouse, or transportation management operation. Monitors day-to-day operations for compliance to establish safety and logistics procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system
Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement
Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
Maintains warehouse staff by interfacing with staffing companies and training employees
Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills preferred
3-5 years of experience in a transportation, warehouse or distribution environment preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred
Bachelor's degree in Business Logistics or Transportation or 8 (eight) years of combined college and/or relevant equivalent work experience is required
Minimum of 2 (two) years of supervisory experience required
Experience with warehouse and or software applications required
Experience with ground transportation operations including DOT, OSHA and all related safety regulations

QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess good communication skills as well as organizational and problem-solving skills
Must be able to use CRT, PC, scanners, calculators and related equipment
Working knowledge of MRP and JIT preferred.
Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills are required
