Tool Crib Organizer
Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour
Shift Hours: Train on 1st 6:45 a.m. -3:15 p.m.
*Must be flexible with hours- hours will vary*
Job Summary:
The Tool Crib Organizer is responsible for maintaining the organization, inventory, and distribution of tools, equipment, and supplies in the tool crib. This role ensures that all tools and materials are available, properly stored, and issued efficiently to support production and maintenance operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and skilled in inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain an organized and clean tool crib, ensuring tools are stored safely and logically.
- Issue tools, equipment, and consumables to employees using proper check-out procedures.
- Track tool usage, return, and condition; follow up on unreturned or damaged tools.
- Perform routine inventory counts and reconcile physical stock with records.
- Label and store tools, parts, and supplies in designated locations.
- Order tools and consumables as needed, maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Inspect tools upon return for wear or damage; coordinate repair or replacement as required.
- Maintain accurate records using inventory management software or logs.
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, and stocking incoming tool shipments.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to meet tooling needs.
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures when handling and storing equipment.
- Provide basic support and guidance on tool usage to employees, if required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or maintenance environment preferred.
- Familiarity with common hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment.
- Basic computer skills; experience with inventory software (e.g., SAP, CMMS) is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment:
- Primarily works in a tool crib or shop environment.
- May be exposed to loud noises, dust, or hazardous materials (PPE required).
- Requires frequent walking, bending, and lifting.
