Star of the West Milling Co is hiring a Shift Miller for its flour mill in Ligonier Indiana. This position is responsible for monitoring and operating the flour milling process to maintain efficient production and ensure finished products meet quality specifications.
This is a hands on position with significant responsibility and an opportunity to advance toward a Head Miller role. Candidates with previous milling production manufacturing or equipment operation experience are encouraged to apply.
Job Responsibilities
Monitor the entire milling system to maintain optimum performance
Ensure finished products meet all required quality specifications
Measure and record milling process parameters
Monitor and document metal detector magnet and sifter tailing findings
Fill in for the Head Miller when designated or during absences
Complete assigned cleaning and basic maintenance activities
Assist with packing operations when needed
Identify and recommend facility equipment and process improvements
Observe and report unusual activity related to site safety or security
Perform additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous production manufacturing machine operation or milling experience preferred
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately complete production records
Ability to troubleshoot basic equipment or production issues
Willingness to work a rotating night schedule weekends and holidays as required
Ability to work independently and take responsibility for shift operations
Physical Requirements
Ability to frequently walk and climb stairs
Ability to climb up and down bulk trailers
Ability to perform general cleaning throughout the facility
Ability to perform basic mill maintenance and repairs
Ability to lift and pack sacks weighing up to 50 pounds
Ability to work in a flour mill and industrial production environment
