Senior Quality Technician
Hours: 6:48 a.m.-3:18 p.m.
Pay rate: $65,000-$66,000 per year depending on experience
Summary
The Senior Quality Technician will assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of prevention-oriented quality and inspection systems to ensure products and processes meet or exceed internal and external requirements. This office, hourly position reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain current quality systems databases, initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation
- Conduct routine quality reviews with each department to monitor quality performance.
- Perform quality systems development in coordination with the Dayton office pertaining to work standards, guidelines, programs and special projects.
- Establish programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment, testing and measurement of analytical equipment and facilities.
- Maintain Document Control records.
- Lead auditing of the Quality Management System.
- Own and maintain Quality Planning Checklist.
- Assist in assessing gaps in quality performance.
- Manage production part approval process.
- Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, data, manuals, and other material to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures required for products/services.
- Initiate corrective and preventive action requests as required.
- Performs internal quality audits and plays a key role in third party audits.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a technical field.
- Minimum 5 yrs. experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Lean Manufacturing experience.
- Six Sigma (Black or Green Belt) is a plus.
- Certifications in CQT and ISO standards are a plus.
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with all team members.
- Results-oriented and dedicated personality with proven creative and critical thinking capabilities
- Strong analytical skills to resolve difficult problems effectively by determining root cause, establishing corrective action plans and implementing long term solutions
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and possess attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and planning skills.
- Strong computer skills required to conduct data analysis and develop requisite processes.
- Skilled experience with basic quality tools - FMEA, APQP, PPAP and 8D.
- Knowledge of metrology tools and practices commonly found in machine shop environments.
- Experience with and understanding of Machining preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
