Senior Accountant – Nonprofit & Grant Accounting
Location: Indianapolis, IN (Onsite)
Type: Long-Term Contract | Potential for Direct Hire
Salary: $75,000+ (Based on Experience)
Pro Resources is partnering with a well-established nonprofit organization in Indianapolis to hire a Senior Accountant with strong nonprofit and grant accounting experience. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the potential to transition into a direct hire role for the right candidate. This role is best suited for someone who understands fund accounting, grant compliance, and nonprofit financial reporting.
What You’ll Do
Manage full-cycle accounting including general ledger, AP/AR, and reconciliations
Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
Oversee grant tracking, reporting, and compliance
Partner with internal teams to manage grant budgets and allocations
Maintain and improve internal controls and financial processes
Assist with audit preparation and auditor coordination
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit standards, and funding requirements
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of accounting experience
At least 2+ years in a nonprofit environment
Hands-on experience with grant accounting and fund accounting
Experience with SAGE Intacct or similar ERP systems preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple funding sources
Schedule
Monday–Friday
8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
