Job Objective:

 The Regional JAG (Jobs for America's Graduates) Specialist is a versatile professional responsible for providing coverage and support across multiple schools in St. Joseph, Elkhart, Fulton, Kosciusko, and Marshall counties. This role ensures continuity of service by filling in for Specialists who are absent or unavailable. When not subbing, the Regional JAG Specialist will assist Specialists with administrative tasks, lesson planning, data management, and supporting field trips or other JAG initiatives. This position combines direct student interaction with collaborative efforts to strengthen program outcomes across the region.

Pay and Shift: 
  • Monday-Friday
  • 38,000 a year salary

Essential Job Functions:
  • Serve as a substitute JAG Specialist across Region 2 counties, delivering high-quality classroom instruction based on JAG standards.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with administrators, faculty, and staff at each assigned school.
  • Collaborate with Specialists and school teams to implement effective JAG programming methods.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including lesson planning, reviewing data entry, and supporting JAG Specialists in meeting performance metrics.
  • Help plan and execute field trips, Career Association events, and other student-focused activities.
  • Ensure program compliance by completing all required documentation and data entry in a timely manner using JAGforce and Indiana Career Connect (ICC).
  • Participate in professional development and training sessions as required by JAG, NIWB, and Pro Resources.
  • Provide support to Specialists who are behind on data or struggling with documentation accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Youth Services and JAG Team Lead to identify areas of need and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Fulfill all responsibilities of a JAG Specialist, including teaching, mentoring, and career readiness instruction, as needed, as well as conducting follow up with graduated JAG students.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Ability to assess complex situations, identify barriers to employment, and develop creative solutions. Flexibility and adaptability to adjust strategies based on participant needs and changing program requirements.
  • All other job duties as assigned.
 
 
Desired Skills and Attributes:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in social service, counseling, business, education, or a related discipline is preferred.
  2. Flexibility and adaptability to travel frequently between counties and adjust to various school environments.
  • Strong organizational skills to balance substituting responsibilities with administrative tasks.
  • Effective communication and cultural competence to work with diverse populations.
  • Problem-solving skills to assess and address program challenges proactively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • This position reports to the JAG Team Lead and Director of Youth Services who reviews performance. 
  • Must demonstrate a high functioning knowledge and skill of basic computer applications.
  • Ability to handle competing demands and effectively prioritize responsibilities.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
