Job Title: Assistant Production Manager
Department: Production
 Reports To: Manager
 Supervisory Duties: Yes

Job Description
ROLE
Support the production department with effective supervision to produce high-quality parts in a safe, cost-efficient manner. Comply with all company safety, quality, and environmental standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Support creating corrective actions for all safety concerns within your department (SCARs)
  2. Identify and implement environmental waste reductions
  3. Support creating corrective actions for all quality concerns within your department (MNCRs)
  4. Monitor inventory accuracy by completing cycle counts. Implement corrective actions when discrepancies are found
  5. Confirm that all associates are following company safety requirements at all times
  6. Promote and confirm conformance to ISO 14001 procedures (recycling, reducing waste)
  7. Confirm trainees’ performance and provide feedback to the trainee and department management (Initial Evaluation, Annual Evaluations, Performance Reviews)
  8. Confirm department cleanliness and organization daily. Confirm implemented improvements using the 5C principle (Clean, Clear, Create, Commit, Continue)
  9. Confirm all required quality checks are being completed on time by all associates
  10. Promote and confirm conformance to IATF 16949 procedures (work standards, check sheets, regulations, quality manual)
  11. Confirm work requests include clear detail of machine issues and corrective actions needed to resolve them
  12. Confirm daily production schedules (quantities, changeovers, PPAPs) are understood by all associates and that all required positions are assigned
  13. Confirm daily shift report sheets for accuracy (product quantity, downtime, scrap)
  14. Knowledge of company policies and practices related to associate relations (free of discrimination, harassment, violence, drugs, and alcohol)
  15. Knowledge and experience with departmental machines, equipment, and procedures
  16. Effectively communicate with management, direct supervisors, and associates
  17. Attend meetings as needed to support continuous improvement and corrective actions
  18. Additional projects as assigned by management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED
  1. Degree in Industrial Technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience
PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
  1. Manufacturing environment experience
  2. Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  3. Basic mechanical knowledge
  4. Supervisory experience
  5. Computer knowledge
ENVIRONMENTAL / WORKING CONDITIONS
  1. Essential functions require regularly sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, carrying, and lifting
  2. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required per company policy
