Purchasing Manager (MRO & Operational Spend)
Location: Winamac, IN (On-Site)
Pay: $70,000–$90,000/year (based on experience)

Pro Resources is partnering with a growing manufacturing company in Winamac, IN to hire a Purchasing Manager for a direct hire opportunity. This is a high-impact role responsible for owning the purchasing function for all MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) and operational spend. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the plant has the materials and services it needs—on time and at the right cost—while helping improve processes along the way. Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Execution
- Manage purchasing of MRO materials, supplies, tooling, and services
- Place and track purchase orders to support uninterrupted operations
- Monitor inventory levels and usage trends to avoid shortages or overstock
- Partner closely with Maintenance, Operations, and Supply Chain teams
Process Ownership & Improvement
- Own and improve purchasing processes, workflows, and controls
- Ensure accurate and timely system transactions (POs, receipts, vendor data)
- Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, visibility, and cost control
Vendor Management
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and service levels
- Evaluate vendor performance and source new suppliers as needed
Cost Management
- Actively manage and challenge spend to align with company goals
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and standardization efforts
- Support budgeting and provide visibility into purchasing trends
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the central point of contact for purchasing across the facility
- Work with multiple teams and locations to ensure accurate request flow
- Drive accountability and results without direct authority
Qualifications
- 5+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience with MRO procurement and plant operations support
- ERP experience (Epicor or similar preferred)
- Proven ability to manage vendors, negotiate, and control spend
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
