Job Duties
- Develop and implement procurement strategies with focus on TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).
- Identify and evaluate, and approve potential suppliers domestically and internationally.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers.
- Manage supplier relationships and report on supplier performance.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations.
- Coordinate with logistics and operations teams for timely delivery.
- Monitor market trends and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
- Forecast demand and adjust procurement strategies to ensure timely delivery of required goods and services to minimized stock-out situations.
- Optimize inventory levels to balance supply availability and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with costing and pricing teams on cost-saving initiatives including RFP and Line Reviews.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities.
- Develop a dashboard to report on movement of high-volume commodity purchases.
- Obtain quotes for products and services as required.
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team, ensuring procurement operations run smoothly and efficiently.
- Foster a collaborative team environment and encourage professional development among team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members, recognizing achievements and addressing areas for improvement.
- Work closely with other departments, to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives.
- Actively participate in management of projects for new and existing business as required.
- Identify risks associated with global sourcing, such as geopolitical issues, currency fluctuations, and logistics challenges.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize supply chain disruptions.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
Background Profile
Strong understanding of global markets and supply chain management.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools, such as ERP systems.
Knowledge of international trade regulations and compliance.
Experience with cost analysis and budgeting.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in both domestic and international procurement.
Manufacturing and engineering background preferred
