Compensation: $75,000+ salary, depending on experience
Employment Type: Long-term temporary (temp first, potential for future direct hire)
Position Overview
The Senior Accountant will support daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and grant compliance for a mission-driven nonprofit organization. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with nonprofit and grant accounting exposure.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll support, and bank reconciliations
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Support grant tracking, reporting, and invoicing
Partner with program teams on budgets and grant allocations
Maintain internal controls and financial accuracy
Assist with audit coordination and auditor communication
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and funding requirements
Utilize accounting software (SAGE Intacct preferred)
Qualifications
5+ years of progressive accounting experience (nonprofit preferred)
Grant management and fund accounting experience strongly preferred
SAGE Intacct experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required (CPA or MBA preferred)
Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and communication skills
Ability to work in a collaborative, mission-focused environment
