Full-time, direct-hire opportunity for a Production Manager in the Press Department.  7: 30am-4: 30pm.  Located in Elwood, Indiana. 

Position Summary
Production manager plans, coordinates, organizes, and controls production. Responsible for the efficient production to ensure the right quantity, quality, and costs are achieved. In addition to this, it is the manager s responsibility to produce goods on time and at right price to meet the demands of the customer for quality, and delivery. The manager leads the department to meet objectives that will provide an employee-oriented; high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, and standards; goal attainment, and the development of a superior workforce. The is responsible for the development of processes and metrics that support the achievement of the organization's business goals.

Essential Functions
Conduct training
Organized and guide daily activities of 45-50 staff which include Production Supervisors, Crew Leaders, and Production Technicians.
Ability to solve problems and produce results
Maintain inventory levels of WIP and finished goods
Evaluate and track production metrics such as OEE, Machine availability, etc.
Develop and maintain working relationships with employees.
Communicate verbally and in writing with senior management and staff.
Utilize statistical tools for problem solving and continuous improvement in a lean manufacturing environment.
Manage the flow of materials into and out of assigned production lines.
Direct and coordinate activities of assigned production lines.
Review financial statements, activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
Ensure compliance with company policies.
Oversee activities directly related to manufacturing processes to ensure quality standards are achieved.
Manage TPM activities for assigned production lines.

Bachelor s degree in, business, industrial technology or other technical field.
5-7 years in Production Management in the Automotive industry
Time Management and good organizational skills a must
Knowledge of Welding processes to include Robot, Mig, Tig and Resistance Welding

Exceptional computer skills
Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
Exceptional people skills and the ability to work well with all levels of the organization.
Ability to problem solve and mediate difficult situations
The ability to multi-task and complete projects in a timely manner.
The ability to maintain strict confidentially.
