Position: Overhead Crane Operator
Pay: $17/hour
Hours: 5am – 3:30pm
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Overhead Crane Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of overhead cranes to move materials and products within our facility. Your expertise in crane operation will be essential in ensuring the smooth workflow of our operations and maintaining a secure work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Crane Operation: Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and position materials or products in accordance with safety guidelines and company procedures.
- Load Handling: Safely load and unload materials from trucks, conveyor systems, and storage areas using the crane's lifting equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including performing pre-operational checks on cranes and reporting any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
- Material Handling: Work closely with other team members to coordinate the movement of materials and ensure efficient production processes.
- Maintenance: Assist in the basic maintenance of overhead cranes, such as lubrication and minor repairs, and report any issues to the maintenance department.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of crane operations, including load weights, equipment inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to coordinate crane activities and respond to production needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Overhead Crane Operator certification (if required by local regulations).
- Proven experience as an Overhead Crane Operator in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to crane operation.
- Physical strength and agility to operate the crane controls and perform lifting tasks.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and potentially in elevated workspaces.
