Job Duties
- Leads and supervises Process Technicians; works directly with team processing, die setting, and troubleshooting.
- Administers process control system and process control procedures.
- Maintain partnership and communication with Plant Manager and Plant Process Engineers to adjust and manage campus priorities.
- Submits work orders for maintenance and tooling items.
- CES continuous improvement initiative coordinator as needed.
- Work closely with Plant Managers/Molding Manager.
- Coordinates technical training.
- Performs and assists in mold tryouts.
- Work closely with SCM (scheduling).
- Attends Leaders Forum.
- SMED and OEE responsibility shift.
- Assists with the development of technician performance measurements.
- Diagnoses machine malfunctions and ensures corrective actions occur in a timely manner.
- Full shift and operational technician responsibility for setup and process technical personnel.
- Responsible for technical support of facilities, injection molding machines, robots, and secondary equipment.
- Works with team to make improvements that support corporate goals and objectives.
- Assures consistent practices between plants in regard to systems, programs, policies, specifications, and standards.
- Coordinates with maintenance/fab and other departments to assure all regulatory requirements are met (i.e.: safety, security, building codes, etc.).
- Serves as a resource person for technical and customer issues within the organization.
- Ability to interact well with internal customers & outside suppliers; understands the value of customer service.
- Supports lean manufacturing initiatives (CES) and ensures technical participation.
Background Profile
- Associates of Science degree in plastics technology, engineering or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years’ experience in plastics technology.
- Certificate, Licenses or Registrations
- Demonstrated high level of Core competencies.
- Strong project management skills and ability to oversee daily production responsibilities across multiple sites.
- Practices strong management disciplines – 7 Habits of Highly Effective Leaders.
- Excellent communication, team player and leadership skills.
- Die-setting and plastics processing experience and ability to lead and mentor die-setters and processors.
- Experience and understanding of plastic properties and behavior under molding conditions.
- Ability to work to achieve corporate goals and objectives with limited supervision.
- Strong computer skills; MS Office package – Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Strong knowledge of plastic injection molding equipment.
- Demonstrated ability in planning, organizing, controlling, coordinating, and supervising a technical operations team.
- Ability to supervise many locations, each with multiple high priorities.
- Strong team development skills and project management skills.
- Strong experience in plastic injection molding and industrial troubleshooting.
