Job Description

Schedule: 1st Shift 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday with some overtime required. Shifts can run until 5pm.

Pay Rate: $18.00 an hour

Job Title: Manufacturing – Mechanical Assembly

Location: Lafayette, Indiana

Position Summary: The position is for a premier manufacturer of generator and distribution switchboards, switchgear, and control panels.

 On job training is provided by the Company

 Manufacturing, Assembly, Metal Work for Electrical Equipment, Shop Work
 State-of-the-art heavy-duty manual & power tools & industrial toolboxes
 Adequate quantity of tools provided for each group’s individual’s toolbox.

Responsibilities:

 Assemble many components of electrical distribution equipment per drawings
 Proper utilization of all common shop tools
 Accurately make measurements in 1/32” increments
 Perform quality and safety inspections on all parts, orders, and equipment
 Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary or other assigned duties as required.

Qualification:

 Detail-oriented person; the work requires attention to detail
 Perform all functions related to assembly operations with minimal training
 Must be a self-motivated individual and work well in a team environment
 Must be competent in the use of hand tools and power tools
 Responsible for personal and area safety as well as general housekeeping
 Basic math skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers and common fractions)
 Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, work experience
and skill development required
