Material Planner (Long-Term Temporary Assignment)
Location: Lafayette, IN
Pay: $33.65/hour
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday
Duration: 6–9 Months (Long-Term Temporary)
About the Opportunity
Pro Resources is seeking an experienced Material Planner for a long-term temporary assignment with a well-established manufacturing facility in Lafayette, IN. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong supply chain and planning experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and making a direct impact on operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Analyze and maintain raw material and work-in-process (WIP) inventory levels
- Develop and manage production schedules based on customer demand
- Forecast material needs and ensure supply availability
- Identify and resolve material shortages by working closely with suppliers
- Coordinate logistics and support efficient material flow to production
- Review material consumption data and ensure accuracy
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between ordered and received materials
- Track and report supplier performance and non-compliance
- Maintain accurate records within MRP/SAP systems
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory and material flow
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Prior experience in material planning, production scheduling, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
- Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze data
- Experience with MRP systems (SAP preferred)
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and work cross-functionally
- Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
Preferred (But Not Required)
- Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- SAP inventory management experience
- Background supporting logistics or supplier coordination
