Job Title: Material Handler- Forklift experience required. Sit-Down and Stand-Up
Location: Logansport, IN
Summary: A Material Handler is responsible for managing, moving, and organizing materials within the warehouse/manufacturing area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect shipments.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Transport material, parts, and products to designated areas using a forklift, pallet jack or other equipment.
- Keep accurate records of material inventory.
- Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
- Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers.
- Inserts items into containers.
- Nails cover wooden crates and bind containers with metal strapping.
- Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Prepare material for shipment.
- Load outgoing shipments onto trucks.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
