The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and conveying systems throughout a food processing and hatchery facility. This role performs both preventative and reactive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and ensure efficient operations. - Compensation is from 52,000 USD to 72,800 USD per year
Job Duties
- Responsible for preventative maintenance on machinery (i.e. checking belts, chains, electrical cabinets, greasing, etc.)
- Repairs, constructs, maintains, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery, and components.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure, as needed, including electrical, plumbing systems and pneumatic.
- Plans and coordinates appropriate inventory levels for frequently needed parts to ensure availability.
- Maintains knowledge of new equipment/machinery available in the market and makes recommendations which will improve process efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Work in compliance with all company policies and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations
- Perform other work-related duties as required or assigned.
Background Profile
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to make decisions and take action
- Ability to operate/use basic hand and power tools
- Strong communication skills
- Bilingual (Spanish-English) strongly preferred
- Strong mechanical abilities
- Knowledge of plumbing, welding, pneumatics and hydraulics
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Understanding of process and flow of work
- Strong ability to plan and see opportunity for improved efficiency
- Poultry experience preferred.
- Experience working with industrial electricity, refrigeration and mechanical systems
