Pro Resources is seeking a 1st Shift Maintenance Technician for a client in Knox, IN. The Industrial Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and continuous improvement of equipment and machinery in a wood-working manufacturing facility. This role plays an essential part in minimizing downtime, ensuring safety, and maximizing productivity. The technician will work closely with production teams to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance tasks, and implement process improvements.
Shift and Compensation
- 1st Shift Monday-Thursday 7AM-3:30 PM Friday 5 AM-1:30 PM
- Compensation is from 52,000 USD to 62,400 USD per year
Job Duties
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on woodworking machinery (e.g., CNC routers, saws, planers, sanders, edge banders).
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Perform emergency repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Preventive Maintenance
- Follow a scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) program for all production machinery and supporting systems.
- Maintain accurate PM documentation, including repairs performed, parts used, and time spent on each task.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
- Use diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, scope) to identify system malfunctions.
- Interpret mechanical and electrical schematics or technical documentation to facilitate accurate problem-solving.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and determine corrective actions.
- Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all company safety protocols, local regulations, and industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety checks on machinery and report any hazards.
- Promote a safe work environment through training, awareness, and consistent compliance with safety policies.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain up-to-date maintenance records, including work orders and spare parts inventory.
- Communicate equipment status, delays, and resolutions to supervisors and relevant team members.
Background Profile
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational school diploma/certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
5+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably in woodworking or related industries.
Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills – MUST HAVE
Familiarity with CNC equipment, PLC systems, and industrial controls.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Effective communication skills for reporting, documentation, and teamwork.
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team under minimal supervision.
Familiarity with safety standards and regulations including lock out/tag out.
Familiar with manufacturing, safety practices, and procedures
