- 1st Shift Monday-Friday 6-2:30 PM
- Pay is dependent on experience
Job Duties
- Performs preventative and routine maintenance of equipment, machinery, and tools. Assists with or responsible for building and grounds maintenance (no lawn care responsibilities)
- Maintain and perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment, testing equipment, controls, calibrating as necessary
- Ensures high levels of compliance with health and safety regulations
- Assists with development, implementation, and review of site specific maintenance logs
- Coordinates, arranges, and provides for completion of corrective and preventative maintenance in accordance with agency operating procedures, practices, and financial considerations
- Ensures major equipment operates in safe, operable condition and/or arrange for repair/replacement
- Obtain work assignments from Maintenance Manager, determines types of repairs needed
- Performs minor repairs to building fixtures, minor plumbing, replaces bulbs, minor electrical issues
- Assists forklift driver when necessary in moving material to/from the building
- Tests equipment to check operation, clears jams, tries out equipment after repairs, changeovers, or downtime
- Notifies Maintenance Manager of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken, and or quality problems or supplies needed
Background Profile
- Some work history in buildings, grounds, and/or equipment maintenance required
- Mechanical aptitude, familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic systems a plus
- Persons who possess familiarity with injection or insert molding equipment and related operations will be given high consideration
- Flexibility a “must” and ability to prioritize when there are several maintenance issues occurring simultaneously
- Attendance, Punctuality should not be an issue
- Ability to lift 40-50 pounds, stand and walk for long periods of time, ability to bend, stoop, reach overhead, general physical fitness to perform maintenance responsibilities in a manufacturing setting
- Visual acuity to read directions and to inspect machined parts closely to ensure they meet specifications, cannot be color-blind
- High School diploma or equivalent with preference given to persons with mechanical apprenticeships, training programs, certificates, etc.
