Pro Resources is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our client’s team in Lafayette, IN. The primary role is to maintain machines and handle building repairs, problem resolutions, and time management.
Location: Lafayette, IN
Shift Hours:
- 1st Shift: 7:00AM – 4:00PM
- Monday through Friday, with some mandatory overtime on Saturdays.
Rate of Pay: $22/hour
Position Responsibilities:
- Setting up machines for various products.
- Troubleshooting hydraulics, electrical, and pneumatics.
- Performing preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Repairing, rebuilding, and welding.
- Lubrication and hand truck repair.
- Building repair and maintenance.
- Adapting to a fast-paced environment and frequent changes on the production line.
- Performing other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Strong mechanical background.
- Welding skills (Tig/Stick).
- Ability to read blueprints (electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic).
- Plumbing skills (water, air, and hydraulic).
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration.
- Excellent time management and ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong team player.
- Effective communication skills with plant and maintenance personnel.
- Ability to work at heights up to 25’ using a ladder or man lift.
- Highly motivated and willing to learn new tasks.
- Availability to work weekends when necessary.
Nonessential Skills:
- Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to very hot or cold temperature conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment can be extremely loud.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to bend, walk, work in extreme heat and cold, climb steps and ladders, and enter confined spaces.
- Must be able to respond quickly to production needs (200-300’ in approximately 30 seconds).
- Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
