Pro Resources is seeking a MIG Welder in Williamsport, IN. This facility manufactures components used in off-highway construction, mining, and heavy-duty trucking equipment.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Perform MIG (GMAW) welding to measure, cut, and assemble metal components using an electric arc with inert shielding gas.
Prepare and clean metal surfaces prior to welding; verify correct gas ratios and inspect welds to ensure quality standards are met.
Remove spatter and ensure welds are clean and free of defects.
Repair welds following approved procedures and inspection guidelines.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
Complete basic maintenance tasks such as changing wire, replacing tips, and checking equipment.
Use approved quality tools to verify part accuracy to specifications.
Correctly clock in jobs and record parts to help maintain accurate production status.
Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
Understand and operate machine safety features such as light curtains and emergency stops.
Meet or exceed company quality standards and follow inspection procedures outlined in the quality manual and WPS Matrix.
Use measuring tools (calipers, tape measure, protractor, square, weld gauge) to verify product dimensions.
Reference the quality manual and work instructions for proper process guidance.
Read and interpret blueprints, including basic GD&T requirements.
Apply welding terminology and operate various gauges as required.
Testing Requirements:
All Production Welders must complete and pass a weld test administered by the Weld Shop Supervisor or designated personnel. This test is pass/fail. No employee may weld without a passing score.
A vision test will be administered every six months to ensure visual accuracy remains acceptable for welding tasks. This test will be conducted in the weld shop office by qualified personnel.
