Job Description

Position: Temporary- Injection Molding Operator
Pay: $16/hour
Hours: 6am- 6pm Monday – Thursday

This company manufactures plumbing fixtures for the RV industry.  They have a reputation for taking care of their people, as they provide exceptional training and long-term opportunities.   We would love to connect you with their team, in the role of Injection Molding Operator.
 
Job Duties:
 
  • Follow work instruction and awareness sheet requirements to meet production needs/achieve efficiencies each day in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Includes visual inspection, possible trimming/clipping to remove parts from runners and/or to trim flash, keeping correct box quantities and packaging of product.
  • Complete and assist in other tasks/ projects as assigned by management.
 
Job Requirements:
 
  • Assigned between 1 – 4 press combinations which allow for a variety of occasional to constant finger, wrist, elbow and shoulder movements (push/pull/bend/grasp/reach) to remove lightweight parts from mold, runners and/or to remove flash from parts with a pair of clippers, utility knife or swivel knife throughout the day.  
  • At some workstations there might be some assembly of parts to complete partial or finished product or put together kits (faucets or other plumbing components) requiring extra hand detail (use of finger tips for pinching or retrieving small objects) and rare to occasional use of vibrating tools.  
  • Keep work areas clean/put items away after use. 
  • Lift/carry is generally in the 15-40 lb. range occasionally throughout the day (get help if you have any doubts about lifting boxes onto top layers of skid or if boxes are above 40 lbs.)    
  • Standing jobs only, and/or walking back and forth between presses throughout the day
  • Job rotation is an essential function 
  • Good work and attendance record
 
Safety Requirements:
 
  • Adhere to health and safety procedures.   All injuries must be reported immediately.  A First Report of Injury Form needs to be completed by both the employee and the supervisor if medical treatment is needed or likely to be needed and submitted to the Safety Coordinator.  For any medical emergency call 911.
  • Hair that is shoulder length or longer must be secured back so it cannot get caught in moving equipment.
  • Eyewear protection is required.  (Personal glasses can be worn or we provide safety glasses.)
  • Shoes (such as comfortable sneakers) that totally enclose the feet must be worn. (No flip-flops, sandals, crocs or open toes/heeled shoes.)  
  • Hearing protection is available and optional in most areas – mandatory protection is required in the grinding room (molding department) and while running the stem and bonnet machine (assembly department), however temps are not normally assigned to these areas.    
  • One of the resins used is polyvinyl chloride (PVC) material – response program in the event of overheated PVC has been provided.  The awareness sheet at each press will give you detailed information on the part and will always identify the material being used, quality issues to be aware of, packaging requirements, etc.  Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are located at the SDS location on the wall down from the employee breakroom - info centers have the emergency plan of action, OSHA required written programs and quality management system information.
