Assembler (Production)
Role Purpose
Build, inspect, and package products according to specifications and the daily production schedule while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble products per work orders/specifications and daily schedule, meeting accuracy and throughput targets.
- Inspect each unit to confirm it meets quality standards and promptly escalate defects or issues.
- Follow all safety policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and proper tool/material handling.
- Keep the workstation clean and organized; perform end-of-shift sanitation/cleanup.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to support efficient workflow and continuous improvement.
Additional Responsibilities
- Monitor component/material inventory at the station and alert the supervisor to shortages.
- Assist with onboarding/training of new team members on procedures and safety.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs.
- Accurately record production data (quantities, scrap, downtime, rework).
- Assist with packaging/labeling of finished goods and cross-train in adjacent production areas.
Qualifications
- Prior manufacturing or assembly experience preferred (not required).
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and read work orders.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Familiarity with basic workplace safety practices.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Technical Skills
- Proficient using basic hand tools and simple fixtures/jigs.
- Basic math and measurement skills; ability to use rulers, calipers, or gauges as needed.
- Able to complete simple forms, checklists, and production logs accurately.
