Machine Operator
Role Purpose
Operate production equipment used to make air filters—such as laminators, sealing, and cutting machines (not an exhaustive list)—while meeting safety, quality, and throughput expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up the machine at the start of shift and for all size changes.
- Run all filters produced on the designated line.
- Check product quality per standards set by the lead and supervisor.
- Clean the work area at the end of the shift.
- Own line performance for output, quality, and uptime.
- Ensure accuracy of production data recorded on the production board and PDC.
- Keep production processes compliant with the Quality Policy.
- Maintain conformance to safety, environmental, housekeeping, and 5S standards.
Additional Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot machine issues or promptly notify the lead so maintenance can be involved.
- Perform in-process quality checks as filters move through the line.
- Assist with minor machine adjustments to maintain steady production flow.
- Communicate material shortages or equipment issues to the lead or supervisor.
Physical & Work Conditions
- Regular (≥67% of the time) walking, standing, and sitting; constant visual attention.
Reporting & Interactions
- Reports to: Shift Supervisor.
- Regular interactions: Shift Supervisor, Lead — Production, Operations Manager, Human Resources.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma/GED.
- Specific knowledge: Knows equipment settings and basic start-up functions.
- Skills & competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Team-oriented; strong attention to detail.
- Physical strength and stamina to stand, walk, and lift for long periods.
- High level of commitment, creativity, and goal orientation.
