Job Title: Upholstery Technician
Hours: Monday thru Thursday 7:00am-4:30pm and Friday 5am-1:30pm CT
Pay: $16/hour
Location: Knox, IN
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Upholstery Technician to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and possess strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality craftsmanship.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble fully upholstered furniture on a production line efficiently and accurately.
- Handle and apply fabric and upholstery materials to furniture and decor without causing damage.
- Read and interpret blueprints and utilize a tape measure for precise assembly.
- Perform all upholstering functions, including spring installation, seat building, insiders (end caps/backs), outsiders, and trimming.
- Operate upholstery tools such as staple guns, mauls, scissors, regulators, brass nail guns, tack pullers, and more.
- Stand, walk, stoop, and bend for extended periods (9+ hours daily).
- Use arms, hands, fingers, and eyes continuously to assemble furniture.
- Lift up to 60 lbs., carry up to 30 lbs., and push or slide items weighing up to 150 lbs. as needed.
- Adhere to safety requirements, including wearing personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses).
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Collaborate in a team-oriented environment to meet shared goals and deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Experience in upholstery or furniture assembly is preferred.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
