Position Summary
A Manual Bender is responsible for operating manual tube-bending equipment to shape metal tubing according to precise specifications used in manufacturing and fabrication processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate manual bending machines to form metal tubes (copper, aluminum, steel, etc.)
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
- Measure and verify bends using gauges, calipers, or templates
- Perform setups and adjustments on bending equipment
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and tolerance standards
- Maintain production pace while minimizing scrap
- Follow all safety procedures and shop policies
- Assist with related fabrication tasks (cutting, deburring, handling materials)
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools
- Basic blueprint reading and measuring skills
- Ability to lift materials and stand for long periods
- Attention to detail and consistency in repetitive tasks
