POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented 5S technician to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) across our production facilities to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) standards throughout the facility.
- Collaborate with various departments while implementing continuous improvement projects.
- Lead and participate in 5S projects aimed at improving workspace organization, reducing waste, and enhancing safety.
- Reporting on 5S activities, progress, and performance metrics to supervision.
- Assist with 5S audits, identify areas of improvement, and work with team members to implement solutions.
- Strong commitment to maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to operate powered equipment such as fork trucks, hand trucks, floor scrubbers and other motorized equipment as needed.
- Must be able to use powered hand tools such as drills, grinders, shop vacs and other powered equipment as needed.
- Must be able to use hand tools such as tape measures, laser levels, squares and other hand tools as needed.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of 5S methodology and Lean manufacturing practices.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: 1-3 years’ manufacturing experience preferred
Computer Skills: Basic
