Mold Set Up Technician – (3rd Shift)
Location: Elkhart, IN
Hours: 10:45 PM – 7:00 AM
Pay: $23 - $25 per hour Based on experience
Position Summary
We are recruiting a Mold Technician – Set Up for 3rd shift in a fast-paced, collaborative manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for setting up molds and molding machines to ensure efficient production of high-quality parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mold and machine setup and adjust machine controls
- Prepare molds for scheduled jobs, including inserts, date codes, knockouts, and water lines
- Set clamp tonnage, core pull sequences, mold protection, and safety devices
- Prepare thermolators and set temperatures as required
- Verify nozzle and orifice sizing
- Purge barrels and troubleshoot molding machines during production
- Prepare molds for storage by cleaning, draining water, and applying rust protectant
- Operate cranes and lifts as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
- Experience with mold setup and operation in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with molding machines and tooling
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- High attention to detail and quality
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and use of hand tools
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts in a moderate-noise environment
