Job Title: Slitting Operator
Location: Elkhart, IN
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour
Shift: 1st Shift, 6:00am–4:00pm
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Slitting Operator to set up, operate, and maintain slitting equipment to convert paper rolls into specified dimensions. This role requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and at least 3 years of experience in paper slitting and machine setup.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and set up slitting machinery to cut paper to required sizes.
- Load/unload jumbo rolls using a forklift.
- Adjust slitter knives and machine controls for accuracy and efficiency.
- Inspect finished product for quality and consistency.
- Perform basic maintenance and maintain a clean work area.
- Follow all safety guidelines and use required PPE.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of slitting paper and equipment setup experience.
- Forklift certification required.
- Ability to read job orders, use basic tools, and measuring devices.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs (with assistance if needed).
- Team-oriented, reliable, and safety-conscious.
