2nd Shift Industrial Painter (Metal Fabrication Environment)
Hours: 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM Monday – Thursday
*Friday is overtime and will most likely work on Saturday as well*
*will train on 1st Shift for a week*
Pay Rate: $20.50 per hour
Job Summary:
The Industrial Painter is responsible for applying protective coatings and finishes to fabricated metal products such as racks, containers, and welded assemblies. This role supports production quality by ensuring all painted components meet durability, corrosion resistance, and customer specifications in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
They specialize in metal fabrication and production welding for industries like automotive and defense, so precision and consistency are critical.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare metal surfaces by grinding, sanding, cleaning, or blasting to ensure proper coating adhesion
- Apply industrial coatings using spray systems (including airless paint systems used in the facility)
- Mix paints and coatings according to manufacturer and job specifications
- Ensure even coverage, correct thickness, and high-quality finish on fabricated parts
- Inspect finished products for defects, runs, or inconsistencies
- Maintain and clean spray equipment, booths, and tools
- Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures, including proper PPE use
- Work closely with welders and fabricators to meet production schedules
- Perform touch-ups and rework as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Experience in industrial painting, powder coating, or automotive painting preferred
- Familiarity with spray guns, airless systems, and industrial coatings
- Ability to read work orders and follow technical instructions
- Knowledge of surface preparation techniques

Work Environment:
- Manufacturing facility with welding stations and spray booths

- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs
- Stand, bend, and move for extended periods
- Work in confined or industrial spaces
