Pay: $16.00 per hour
Shift: 2nd Shift
Monday – Friday, 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
Limited mandatory overtime
Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Grinder to join our welding and fabrication team on 2nd shift. This position involves grinding welds, removing rough edges, and finishing sheet metal components in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment. This is a physically demanding role requiring significant upper body strength and the ability to handle heavy materials throughout the shift.
Responsibilities
- Grind welds and smooth rough edges on sheet metal products
- Inspect finished pieces for quality and proper surface finish
- Work closely with welders and fabrication personnel to complete customer orders
- Operate grinding equipment safely and efficiently
- Lift, move, and position metal materials as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines
Qualifications
- Previous grinding experience is required
- Must be willing to work 2nd shift
- Previous machine operation experience is a plus
- Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, welding support, or industrial environments preferred
- Strong work ethic and ability to perform physically demanding tasks
- Ability to lift, carry, shake, and maneuver up to 50 pounds regularly
- No high school diploma or GED required
Work Environment
- Industrial manufacturing and fabrication facility
- Exposure to heat during summer months and cooler temperatures during winter months
- Physical work requiring frequent standing, lifting, and repetitive upper body movements
