Responsibilities:
Safely operate electric arc furnaces while following all work instructions and safety procedures.
Complete melting logs and summary sheets for each heat of steel produced.
Monitor furnaces and auxiliary equipment to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently.
Perform routine equipment inspections and report any maintenance concerns.
Maintain accurate production records.
Follow quality standards and all company safety policies.
Support production needs and work flexible assignments as required.
Qualifications:
Experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.
Experience operating industrial equipment or machinery.
Basic computer proficiency.
Basic math and reading skills.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
Enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.
Committed to working safely and following established procedures.
Physical & Work Environment:
Work around moving machinery, airborne particles, fumes, and industrial equipment.
Exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, outdoor weather conditions, vibration, and loud noise.
May occasionally work at heights.
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
