Job Title: Part-Time Forklift Operator – Refrigerated Warehouse (Saturdays Only)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Forklift Operator to unload trucks carrying refrigerated and frozen products on Saturdays. This role involves operating forklifts in cold storage environments, handling heavy materials, and ensuring efficient and accurate product movement.
Location: Roanoke, IN
Hours: 3am-2pm
Pay: $17.00hr.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a forklift to unload incoming trucks with refrigerated and frozen goods
- Safely transport pallets and materials to designated storage areas
- Assist with manual unloading when required (lifting 40–80 lbs)
- Inspect shipments for damage, accuracy, and quality
- Organize and stack products in coolers and freezers
- Perform daily equipment checks and report any mechanical issues
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Work closely with team members to complete Saturday workload efficiently
Work Environment:
- Cold storage conditions (refrigerated and freezer areas)
- Fast-paced warehouse setting with frequent forklift operation
Requirements:
- Valid forklift certification (required)
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment
- Ability to work in cold temperatures for extended periods
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Reliable and punctual for weekend shifts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in refrigerated or food distribution warehouses
- Familiarity with pallet jacks and other material handling equipment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy items regularly
- Standing, sitting (forklift operation), bending, and reaching throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in refrigerated and freezing conditions
