Feed Mill Operator
*Must have prior Manufacturing and Forklift experience.
A Feed Mill Operator plays a crucial role in the production of animal feed, ensuring that it meets quality standards and specifications.
Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and store incoming raw materials such as grains, vitamins, and minerals.
Ensure proper documentation of received materials and report any discrepancies.
Operate and maintain feed mill equipment, including grinders, mixers, pellet mills, and conveyors.
Monitor equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation.
Follow feed formulation recipes to accurately mix batches of feed.
Adjust ingredient quantities to meet quality and nutritional specifications.
Conduct quality checks on finished feed to ensure it meets established standards.
Document and report any deviations from quality requirements.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Maintain accurate records of production activities, including ingredient usage, batch numbers, and equipment maintenance.
Assist in inventory management and stock control.
Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas regularly to prevent contamination.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in feed mill operations or a related field is preferred.
Knowledge of feed production processes and equipment.
Basic math and record-keeping skills.
Ability to lift and carry bags of feed ingredients.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
