Position: Feed Mill Operator
*Must have prior Manufacturing and Forklift experience.
Payrate- $20-$24 BOE
Location: Brookston, IN
A Feed Mill Operator plays a crucial role in the production of animal feed, ensuring that it meets quality standards and specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming raw materials such as grains, vitamins, and minerals.
- Ensure proper documentation of received materials and report any discrepancies.
- Operate and maintain feed mill equipment, including grinders, mixers, pellet mills, and conveyors.
- Monitor equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation.
- Follow feed formulation recipes to accurately mix batches of feed.
- Adjust ingredient quantities to meet quality and nutritional specifications.
- Conduct quality checks on finished feed to ensure it meets established standards.
- Document and report any deviations from quality requirements.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including ingredient usage, batch numbers, and equipment maintenance.
- Assist in inventory management and stock control.
- Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas regularly to prevent contamination.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in feed mill operations or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of feed production processes and equipment.
- Basic math and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to lift and carry bags of feed ingredients.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds all day.
