Job Duties
- Assist the facility manager in the investigation of accidents/injuries within the department, including timely documentation of any department injuries or unsafe working conditions.
- Adhere to organizational safety requirements (personal protective equipment, etc.).
- Monitor facility housekeeping / department organization within scope of responsibility.
- As part of normal maintenance routine, conduct regular inspection tours of the facility to detect existing or potential accidents and / or health hazards. Where applicable, determine corrective or preventive actions, alert facility manager and follow-up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Assist facility manager to document findings related to facility housekeeping tours
- Maintain an accident prevention attitude among all personnel.
- Ability to work with MES and ERP systems as required.
- Ability to work with Limble work order system.
- Assume ownership of assigned equipment within the scope of responsibility.
- Troubleshoots and repairs manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Perform regular and preventive maintenance on equipment based on production work orders entered into Limble to eliminate unscheduled downtime.
- Initiate purchase of required tools, parts, and materials and maintain accountability for tools issued.
- Make recommendations for equipment upgrades and modifications, as well as mechanical safety procedures.
- Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on equipment, plans for and takes corrective action.
- Makes necessary corrections and adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
- Reviews production schedule and when equipment is not scheduled for manufacturing, performs scheduled maintenance and logs PM into Limble tracking system.
- Tests equipment to check operation, tries out equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime.
- Examine defects and analyze, where possible, take corrective action; analyzes and records cause of production delays on daily shift reports.
- Notifies manager of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken, and of quality problems or supplies needed.
- Maintenance and repair of facility and grounds.
- Rigging and moving equipment.
- Installation of equipment and fixtures.
- Repair and maintenance of building (painting, door, hole patching, filter changes, etc.).
- Light fabrication and construction.
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of maintenance shop.
Background Profile
- High school diploma
- Technical certificate
- Prior Electrical troubleshooting and basic schematic reading is a must. (110/240/480 3-phase)
Prior PLC experience is a must.
- Basic computer skills as needed (i.e. Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Forklift certified
- 3 to 5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environments
