Traffic Manager/Dispatcher
Pay: 15.00/hr
Hours: 8am – 5pm Monday – Friday
Location: Wakarusa
The Traffic Manager is responsible for dispatching loads to contractors assigned to the position as efficiently and effectively as possible with a priority on dispatching hot loads, loads with critical delivery deadlines and older loads. The Traffic Manager is tasked with developing a productive relationship with the contractors assigned to the position to maximize their productivity, profitability and satisfaction to maximize load deliveries and minimize contractor turnover.
Duties:
Arrive at work in time to be ready to start work at 8 am.
Check the load boards for all loads that need to be moving that day with special attention to hot loads, loads with critical delivery dates and older loads.
Call available contractors and dispatch loads as quickly and efficiently as possible with an emphasis on hot loads.
Confirm that assigned loads depart on schedule and follow-up on late loads.
Answer all incoming calls within three rings.
Check voice mail regularly and return calls promptly or follow-up as needed.
Check email regularly and follow•up as needed.
Review unfinished paperwork from the previous day, procure missing paperwork, and obtain signatures as required to complete processing and expedite invoicing.
Qualifications:
Great Phone skills
MS Office
High School Diploma
Ability to work under stress and handle multiple demands simultaneously
Ability to effectively communicate on the telephone
Ability to operate specific software including:
Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
