Pro Resources Staffing is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to work at one of our customers, located in Upland, IN.

Direct Hire Opportunity
$140k- $160k annually 

Position Overview: 

This position is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations for Avis and its entire portfolio of companies.  This includes ensuring compliance with GAAP, assuring robust internal control, maintaining standard operating procedures, and leading the consolidation of financial data across the organization.  This position will provide direct supervision of the Corporate Accounting Manager and the Corporate Accountant, while also working closely with all subsidiary controllers.   


Position Responsibilities: 

 

  • Oversee general ledger and accounting functions and systems across the entire Avis portfolio of companiesincluding but not limited to: 

  • Ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate financial accounts. 

  • Managing the month end closing process and ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly in a timely manner. 

  • Preparing and analyzing the monthly consolidated financial statements and submitting them monthly to management and the board of directors. 

 Ensure sound financial controls are established and maintained, including but not limited to: 

  • Ensuring every subsidiary is following Standard Operating Procedures, and refreshing those procedures as needed. 

  • Ensuring the ERP/accounting system is properly capturing and recording all transactions. Troubleshoot as necessary. 

  • Ensuring proper inventory control, and that movement and counts of inventory are accurately reflected in the financial records. 

  • Partner with the CFO and Director of FP&A to monitor working capital trends, assuring timely collection of accounts receivable, optimal inventory levels, and prudent accounts payable management. 

  • Along with the subsidiary Controllers, oversee the maintenance of the cost accounting system. Ensure accurate product standards are developed and maintained. 

  • Work with the Corporate Accounting Manager and outside audit & tax firm on the annual financial audit and tax matters, including compliance reporting. 

  • Oversee property & casualty insurance, including annual renewals and coordination of claims. Serve as the main contact with the outside insurance agent and carriers. 

  • Approve weekly vendor check runs. 

  • Support banking administrative needs, such as approving wire/ACH payments, credit card management, and setting up authorized check signers. 

  • Collaborate with the ERP team, providing guidance on proper system design and functioning from an accounting and control perspective. 

  • Optional requirement, depending upon the candidate:  Provide support for mergers & acquisitions, including valuation, due diligence and integration of acquired companies. 

Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by management.


 

Experience, Qualifications, Skills, Abilities: 

 

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in accounting, Licensed CPA, and public accounting experience preferred. 

  • 10+ years of total experience in public accounting and industry, prefer multi-site manufacturing industry experience in a Standard Costing environment. 

  • Proven supervisory skills with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity. 

  • Proven track record of implementing and improving Standard Operating Procedures and internal controls. 

  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with ability to use Microsoft products (emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint); experience with MRP systems and data warehouse queries. 

  • Superior interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities 

  • Demonstrated ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization. 

  • Effective planning and priority setting; ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines. 

  • Strong financial, analytical, and organizational skills, inquisitive, detail-oriented, resourceful 

  • Ability to act with professionalism and confidentiality. 

  • Ability to uphold the Avis core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, and Excellence. 

  • M&A experience is a plus.
