Job Summary:
As the subject matter expert in process automation and control technology, the Controls Engineer at Pro Resources plays a pivotal role in enhancing manufacturing processes. This position involves crafting new PLC codes, refining existing ones for improved safety and efficiency, and actively participating in process automation technology hardware upgrades. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Gain a "hands-on" in-depth understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Monitor and optimize daily/weekly/monthly alarm quantities, improving communication of real process issues.
- Respond promptly to plant needs regarding process updates related to automation software and/or hardware.
- Provide technical expertise to maintain and enhance process automation/control system performance.
- Conduct control loop performance analysis, loop turning and optimization, control system design, configuration, and documentation.
- Support maintenance in troubleshooting and correcting instrumentation and/or control problems.
- Develop and maintain all drawings and documentation related to process changes and improvements.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering for the development and implementation of new control strategies.
- Generate routine and special reports against plans and targets, addressing non-typical events.
- Conceptualize and design new equipment automation needs, including code and hardware components.
- Respond to after-hours emergency repair/support calls as required.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Three to five years of proven experience in production/industrial engineering.
- Exposure to Lean Six Sigma and 5S is a plus.
- Effective leadership skills and the ability to direct employees.
- Detail-oriented, results-driven, and efficient time management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exceptional attention to detail, and good follow-up skills.
