Pro Resources Staffing is seeking an experienced Controller with Human Resources experience at one of our customers, located in Auburn, IN.  The ideal candidate will have direct experience within a manufacturing environment.

Summary:
The Controller is a key member of the finance team responsible for overseeing the organization's financial operations, reporting, and compliance. This role involves managing accounting processes, financial analysis, budgeting, and providing strategic financial guidance to the company's management. The Controller ensures accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
 
  • Accounting Operations: Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll. Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
 
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
 
  • Compliance and Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
 
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Provide actionable insights to support decision-making and improve financial performance.
 
  • Audits: Coordinate and manage external audits conducted by independent auditors. Provide necessary documentation and explanations during the audit process.
 
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and liquidity, making recommendations to optimize working capital and mitigate financial risks.
 
  • Taxation: Oversee tax planning and compliance. Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax filings.
 
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor finance and accounting team members. Promote professional development and ensure efficient and effective team performance.
 
  • Systems and Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
 
  • Recruitment and Staffing: Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract and retain qualified candidates. Coordinate the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviews, and onboarding.
 
  • Employee Relations: Foster a positive work environment by handling employee grievances, conflicts, and disciplinary actions. Ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws.
 
  • Compensation and Benefits: Administer compensation programs, including salary reviews, bonuses, and benefits packages. Conduct market research to ensure competitive compensation and benefits.
 
  • HR Policies and Procedures: Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures to ensure consistency and adherence throughout the organization.
 
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and reporting requirements. Keep up-to-date with changes in employment laws and make necessary adjustments to HR practices.
 
  • Employee Engagement: Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, morale, and job satisfaction.
 
  • HR Metrics and Reporting: Track and analyze HR metrics, such as turnover, employee engagement, and training effectiveness. Prepare HR reports for management.
 
 
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting standards (e.g., GAAP/IFRS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Thorough knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
