Job Title: Certified Forklift Operator
Location: Michigan City, IN
Shift: 2nd shift: 2:45pm - 11pm Central Time, Monday - Friday
Pay: $18.00 / hour
We are seeking a skilled Certified Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating industrial trucks or equipment to move materials efficiently around the warehouse or storage yard. Primary duties include removing palletized shingles from the production line, transporting them to the storage area, loading palletized shingles onto trucks and boxcars, and assisting with warehouse and material handling of decking and rails.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a forklift or other industrial trucks and equipment to move materials as required.
- Remove palletized shingles from the production line and transport them to the designated storage area.
- Load palletized shingles onto trucks and boxcars for shipping.
- Assist with warehouse and material handling tasks related to decking and rails.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouse and storage areas.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and management regarding daily tasks and priorities.
- Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a forklift operator.
- Proven experience operating a forklift or similar industrial equipment in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when necessary.
- Flexibility to work 2nd shift hours (2:45pm - 11pm Central Time) Monday - Friday.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Must submit to a background check and drug screen prior to employment.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
