Shift: 3pm-11pm 2nd shift Mon-Fri
Payrate: $16.50 an hour ($15.00 an hour while training on 1st for 2 week)
Position: Shipping and Receiving Technician
Location: Goodland, IN
*Forklift certification or 2 years experience required*
Summary of Responsibilities:
The basic function of the Shipping & Receiving Technician is to process, ship and receive items according to customer specifications and procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operate forklifts, manual pallet jacks and two-wheel carts to load and unload truck; transfer product from staging areas to proper warehouse locations; pick orders and move items throughout the facility
- Transport and shelve product in an orderly and safe manner following proper procedures
- Prepare product and documents for shipment according to customer specifications
- Transfer product and pick orders for shipment to customers using barcode scan system
- Record and prepare packages shipped UPS
- Manually skid product for shipment
- Operate wrapping machine and bander
- Maintain Forklift Operator’s Checklist and hour meter records along with preventative maintenance requirements
- Meet safety training requirements and follow established safety practices and policies
- Maintain proficiency and certification on all items contained within this and proceeding task and duty descriptions
- Perform other duties as required by Management.
- Maintain 5S standards
- Adhere to policies, procedures and instructions
- Adhere to No Fault Attendance Policy
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Knowledge of areas of shipping and receiving including inventory control systems, bar coding, shipping forms/bills of lading, and forklift operations
- PC Literate
- Ability to work closely with groups of people, including company employees at all levels, suppliers, competitors, sub-contractors and other outside professionals with whom the company deals with on a regular basis
- Ability to operate telephones, mobile 2-way radios and other specialized equipment
- Ability to operate as a ‘trusted agent’ in which full confidentiality and strict ethical business standards are to be observed
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods of time
- Ability to work extended hours, odd hours, weekends, as required covering for overtime and absence of Shipping/Receiving personnel
Education:
Required: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Experience:
Required: Forklift Certified
Preferred: Two years shipping/manufacturing with bar code system, UPS
