The CNC Machinist will support the machining department by programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathe equipment while producing high-quality parts in a safe and efficient environment. Shift and Compensation
- 1st Shift Monday-Thursday 6AM-4 PM + OT on Friday
- Pay : $23 / hour
Job Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions to determine machining requirements
- Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes, including Mazak equipment
- Load, unload, and monitor parts throughout the machining process
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other measuring tools
- Adjust machine controls as needed to maintain quality standards and tolerances
- Assist with process improvements and development of standard operating procedures
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members when needed
- Work closely with production leadership to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Operate a forklift to move and organize materials and finished products
Background Profile
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years of CNC turning and programming experience
- Experience programming Mazak lathes required
- Strong understanding of tooling, tool maintenance, and machining practices
- Ability to read and use OD and ID micrometers
- Experience indicating parts using a 4-jaw chuck
- Clausing lathe experience is a plus
- Strong blueprint reading and inspection skills
- Ability to convert fractions and decimals accurately
