Shift and Compensation
- Monday-Friday 7-4 PM
- Compensation: Up to $65,000 per year
Job Duties
- Conducts inspections of each area of the plant, assessing and ensuring compliance with all applicable company and government safety, health, and security regulations and procedures.
- Inspects fire extinguishers each month; inspects all other fire protection equipment to ensure the equipment is in proper working order and coordinates fire inspection tours.
- Facilitates productive discussions among employees and management relative to safe workplace practices.
- Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
- Investigates and facilitates corrective action of all accidents and near miss occurrences, identifies trends and causes to ensure corrective measures are implemented.
- Maintains files and documentation related to safety inspections and operations.
- Develops and implements safety and compliance programs; provides required training on programs and procedures and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
- Maintains current knowledge of applicable government compliance regulations, which may include Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) , IOSHA (Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration), county and other local regulations.
- Ensures all facilities maintain proper number of personnel trained in First Aid and CPR and first aid supplies are kept at proper inventory levels.
- Monitors and coordinates hearing conservation program.
- Conducts and certifies all forklift training.
- Participates in the Safety Committee.
- Assist Safety Manager in accompanying agency staff such as staff conducting safety, fire, and physical audits, throughout the facility; assists with audit process as required.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and locals laws and regulations, and company policies.
Background Profile
- Associates Degree or Equivalent Experience
- At least 1 year of experience in safety (OSHA) or related experience required
- Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience administering safety programs preferred
- OSHA 30-hour certification preferred
- Certification in First Aid/CPR required
