Position Summary
Pro Resources is seeking a dependable and motivated Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position performs custodial and light maintenance duties while providing leadership and coordination for the evening custodial team. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. This position is located in Woodburn, IN. Apply with us today!

Shift: Monday–Friday | 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM

Essential Responsibilities
Custodial & Building Maintenance
  • Perform daily cleaning and custodial duties in assigned areas according to District standards.
  • Clean and disinfect classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, locker rooms, stairwells, common areas, and other school facilities.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and disinfect floors.
  • Dust furniture, equipment, ledges, windowsills, and high surfaces.
  • Clean interior and exterior windows, mirrors, glass doors, and other glass surfaces.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Replenish restroom supplies and custodial materials as needed.
  • Stock custodial closets and maintain an organized inventory of supplies.
  • Identify maintenance concerns and report repair needs promptly.
  • Assist with stripping, waxing, and refinishing floors.
  • Assist with moving furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Set up and tear down tables, chairs, bleachers, and equipment for school events and activities.
  • Assist with snow removal and salting sidewalks and entrances during winter weather.
Equipment & Safety
  • Safely operate and maintain District custodial equipment, including:
    • Walk-behind floor scrubbers
    • Riding floor scrubbers
    • I-Mops
    • Vacuums
    • Carpet extractors
    • Other custodial equipment
  • Properly mix, handle, and use cleaning chemicals according to safety guidelines.
  • Follow all District safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Respond appropriately to building emergencies that arise during the shift.
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Serve as the lead custodian for the assigned shift.
  • Coordinate and assist the work of Class I custodians working during the same shift.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between building administration and the custodial staff during evening hours.
  • Manage radio communications with custodial staff and administration.
  • Assist with coverage for the Head Custodian when needed (elementary level assignments).
  • Support efficient workflow while maintaining District cleaning standards.
Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous custodial, janitorial, facilities maintenance, or building maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience operating commercial custodial equipment is preferred.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Commitment to providing a clean, safe, and professional environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently walk, stand, bend, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and reach overhead.
  • Regularly use custodial tools, equipment, and cleaning machinery.
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 80 pounds.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions when necessary.
Work Environment
This position works in an active school environment and may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical equipment, electrical hazards, cleaning chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions. Noise levels are generally moderate.
