This position is located in Fort Wayne, IN at a plastic facility. The company has been in business for nearly 30 years and is still experiencing growth. Plastic is used in a lot of heavy equipment, such as John Deere but also items as small as shovels.
Shift/Pay:
2nd Shift; 2pm - 10:30pm (Monday through Friday)
$15.00/hr
- There is a $3.00/hr incentive for time spent working Extrusion Lines and a $1.50/hr incentive for time spent working on Hoppers. This is ON TOP of the base pay.
Description:
For their 1st 90 days they will be working on extrusion lines. The plastic is melted down and formed in various shapes onto these lines. Candidates will be bending down to measure out the plastics, mark them and cut it with a circular saw. Often times, if no work needs to be done in extrusion, they will work in the scrap area where they will cut up plastic and wood using a table saw. After direct hire, they will learn other aspects of the warehouse.
This is a physical job when it comes to the bending required, it will make them sore in their knees and back the first week - it's a work out. It is also VERY hot in the warehouse during summer months. It is not climate controlled and there are ovens running in the facility that contribute to the temperature.
- Will be using various saws: circular, up cut and table saws
- It is preferred that candidates are able to measure lengths
-- Will train on how to use micrometers and calipers if needed
- Filling hoppers/Gaylord buckets/bins with plastic pellets (this is the lifting aspect of the job)
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds

- Pay does increase to $15.50 upon DH
- Will DH early if the employee does really well - usually within a month and a half.
