2nd Shift Mig Production Welder
Hours: 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM Monday - Thursday
*Friday will be overtime and most likely working on Saturday as well*
Pay Rate: $20.50 per hour
Summary: A specialized, niche metal fabricator with decades of experience, focused on building custom racks, containers, and welded assemblies—especially for automotive and industrial clients. It’s not a large-scale manufacturer, but it has a strong reputation for precision work and tailored solutions.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications.
- Set up welding equipment and select proper settings.
- Weld components in flat or vertical positions
- Inspect welds for accuracy and quality.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a MIG welder
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications.
- Proficient in welding techniques, including MIG welding.
- Knowledge of welding equipment and tools
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Good communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the automotive industry
- Familiarity with industrial racking systems
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to pick up and load parts into a weld fixture ranging in size from a few inches, up to 8 feet in length, and help team lift parts greater than 8 feet.
- Must be able to pick up and lift completed parts ranging in weight from less than 1 pound, up to 50 pounds, and help team lift parts that are greater than 50 pounds.
- Must be able to endure standing for periods of time up to 3 hours at a time during a 10-hour work schedule
- Must be able to OCCASIONALLY crouch, kneel, lean over, and step up on a ladder, depending upon the job.
- Must be able to grasp a welding torch with their dominant hand, and steady it with their non-dominant hand.
