Job Title 1st Shift Team Lead
Pay 17.40 per hour
Schedule Monday to Friday 600 AM to 200 PM
Summary
The 1st Shift Team Lead supports the daily operations of the assigned department while ensuring a smooth transition between shifts. This role serves as an extension of management and is expected to model professionalism strong communication and teamwork at all times. The Team Lead works collaboratively across departments addresses issues proactively and escalates concerns to management when necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare the next shift for success by maintaining a clean and organized work area
Verify all tooling is accounted for and properly stored at the end of each shift
Communication
Communicate quality issues to supervisors quality and manufacturing engineers
Coordinate run schedules with supervisors and other team leads
Communicate material needs with material handlers
Notify supervisors of PM requirements downtime over 15 minutes low efficiencies or material shortages
Identify and communicate updates to standard work instructions SWIs
Maintain clear professional and timely communication with all departments
Training and Development
Ensure operators are properly trained and signed off on job tasks
Maintain accurate training records and verify training documentation
Assist in training and retraining employees as needed
Train employees on SWIs paperwork Plex system quality standards and sorting procedures
Production Support
Ensure operators have all necessary materials components rails racks paperwork dunnage etc
Assist operators with quality concerns and perform random quality checks
Confirm employees are logged into correct work centers and jobs
Maintain gages fixtures and tooling including calibration verification and cleanliness
Ensure spare tooling is available when required
Operations
Contact maintenance when equipment is down
Move finished product to the next operation
Print Plex labels and scrap labels as needed
Ensure scrap is properly handled and delivered to the MRB area
Verify all required paperwork is completed and submitted at end of shift
Assist with work center changeovers
Leadership Responsibilities
Provide operator relief for breaks as needed
Support overtime coverage for other team leads including weekends or call ins
Operate machinery in emergency situations or as directed
Work through breaks when necessary to support production
Hold team members accountable to safety quality and production standards
Provide respectful direction and leadership to team members
Requirements
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments
Basic computer skills and ability to learn internal systems Plex experience preferred
Ability to read write and speak English
Flexibility to work extended hours with short notice as needed
Prior manufacturing or leadership experience preferred
