Job Title: 1st Shift Material Handler (Saw Operator Focus)
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay Rate: $16.75/hour
Position Summary:
Paragon Plastics is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler for our 1st shift team. This role will primarily focus on operating various saws to cut plastic materials for assembly and forming, while also supporting general material handling throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with band saws, table saws, and larger saw equipment, and able to adapt to a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate band saws, table saws, and large saw table equipment to cut plastic materials accurately
Ensure materials are cut to specification for assembly and forming processes
Move equipment, supplies, and parts throughout the facility as needed
Understand and meet company expectations for product quality, delivery, and customer service
Follow all applicable process sheets and work instructions
Use computer systems (IQMS and WMS) to track materials and production needs
Identify manufactured parts and interpret labels correctly
Conduct daily forklift inspections before operation
Safely operate a forklift in accordance with OSHA and company standards
Change propane tanks for forklifts as needed
Load, unload, move, and store materials manually or using forklifts/pallet jacks
Track inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies
Stage materials, tooling, and fixtures for production
Label, sort, and organize materials accurately
Additional Duties:
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Follow all safety procedures and best practices
Rotate to other positions as assigned
Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor or Team Leader
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent reaching and material handling
Ability to climb on and off forklifts regularly
Qualifications:
Prior experience operating saws (band saw, table saw, or similar equipment) preferred
Forklift experience preferred (or willingness to be trained)
Basic computer skills
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
